I had a dream or two.

Some twittering today with the delicious Nyte Vargas got me thinking about how my SL experience influenced my RL night dreams. Actually, I can remember of two dreams I had, that were clearly influenced by recent SL activities.

First dream: I'm in an attic in a big house, in the country. I stumble upon a pack of old comics with superheros and supervilains. I turn over the pages of a dusted issue, and in the last page, there is a black & white drawing of a big screen computer, in the undeground base of the mean super vilain. I think "Could I use this computer screen to get in touch with my SL girlfriend?". The screen is still black in the page, but under it, there's a command line that suddenly pops up, similar to the chat zone of the SL interface. Thanks to this "magic" chat zone that appeared inside the drawing, I can finally talk with her, as if I'm chatting with an old text-based version of SL (remember, these are very old issues!).

Second dream: The day before I had this dream, I visited a nice reproduction of a welknown italian church in Second Life, and spent some time looking at the textures. In the dream, I'm naked, with three girls who are my partners in crime. We're in the middle of the church, in plain light with vivid colors. There's another girl with us, our victim, and we begin to eat her, litteraly, even if she's still alive and ask for our mercy. We eat her flesh and it's like a sexual orgy for us. Our movements are not always natural, quite rigid and automatic. We have a very arousing moment. After this orgasmic gore scene, I go out the church with my co-murderers and we walk straight forward in a field of grass, enjoying the rising sun. (Needless to say, I was quite irritated and uneasy with myself when I woke up that day!).

My shrink deleted me from his friendlist when I told him about the second dream.

The Gallarus Oratory (work in progress)

In order to please a sweet friend of mine, I decided to build an SL replica of the Gallarus Oratory. Says Wikipedia:
"The Gallarus Oratory (Irish: Séipéilín Ghallarais) is believed to be an early Christian church located on the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry, Ireland. Though the building is believed to have been built between the 6th century and 9th century, some believe it could have been built as late as the 12th century because the east window has a rounded top made of two carved stones (not a true arch). According to local legend, if a person climbs out of the oratory via the window, their soul will be cleansed."
My SL version of this building is not really faithful, I chose to have a bigger build, with an increased depth, and a flat roof instead of a rounded top. Increased depth allows for easier moves and camera views inside it. Working on such a modest build, with only one single texture applied to each face, is a really nice way to learn more about textures manipulations in SL.

I still have to add a rounded window on the back wall, and the work on the texture must be improved yet. Especially the borders of the prims, where the textures are bent for now. For the opening door, I used a cool free script that opens a door inside a prim for the entrance (Secret Door Switch Open, by Vares Solvang, I can't retrieve it the SL forums sorry!). A command /10 open allows to open the door, and where you close it (/10 close), it feels like you're alone and protected in this old and quiet shelter.

Hello world!

Hi, here I am. One new blog in a world full of SL blogs already.

I was born in Second Life about a year ago. One year full of weirdness, discoveries, love, passion, crashes and bugs :)
